Dr. Itriago is a fellowship trained colorectal surgeon who will be specializing in diseases of the colon and rectum. Dr. Itriago received his medical school education at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, School of Medicine in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his internship and general surgery residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he was the recipient of The Charles Polivy, MD and the Robert Warren Painter, MD Awards for Excellence in Academics, Teaching and Clinical Care. Dr.Itriago went on to complete a minimally invasive colorectal fellowship at the Colorectal Clinic of Orlando, an affiliate of the Orlando Regional Medical Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr.Itriago is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is certified in the use of the da Vinci robotic surgical system. Dr.Itriago’s particular areas of expertise include advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures for colorectal cancer, diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel disease. He also specializes in the surgical treatment of anorectal pathology including hemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas.
