Dr. Stephen Jones is a Board Certified General Surgeon since 2016. He grew up in Alliance, Ohio. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University, in 2005, after only 2 years of studies. He graduated from Northeast Ohio Medical University, in Rootstown, OH in 2010. He did his general surgery training at Northside Medical Center/Western Reserve Health Education in Youngstown, OH. He served as Chief Resident of the surgical program from 2014-15.
After his residency, Dr. Jones pursued additional training and completed an Advanced Gastrointestinal surgery fellowship at The Valley Hospital/Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center in Ridgewood, New Jersey. After training, he worked as a contract General Surgeon providing surgical services at various hospitals across the country before moving to Tampa Bay and joining Suncoast Surgical Associates. Dr. Jones performs all types of gastrointestinal surgery. He has expertise in minimally invasive surgery including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, and colon resections. He has a particular interest in providing acute surgical care and emergency surgeries.
